Overview
An electric linear actuator converts motor rotation into linear movement. Stroke length, speed and load capacity describe different aspects of its operating range. Application selection depends on the required movement and force. When documenting a humanoid, identify the particular actuator or arrangement if the source provides it. A broad statement that a robot is electrically actuated does not establish which joints use linear actuators.[1]
