Overview

Motion planning searches for motions that satisfy a task and avoid obstacles or other constraints. Planning operates in a representation of the robot and its environment. Different problems call for different planning methods. A feasible geometric path does not by itself establish dynamically stable humanoid walking or safe physical interaction. Robot articles should distinguish a planning method from the controller and evidence used to execute it.[1]
