Overview

Bipedal locomotion requires coordinated leg movement and balance while contact with the ground changes. Honda’s historical program progressed through P2 and P3 to ASIMO. These platforms document successive engineering approaches to humanoid walking. A walking demonstration establishes movement in the demonstrated setting. Speed, terrain, support equipment and operating conditions should be recorded with the particular robot generation. It does not establish general-purpose manipulation or unrestricted autonomy.[1][2][3]
